GIM involves listening to music in a deeply relaxed state to promote imagery, which may include a range of sensory experiences, memories and feelings. The participant is supported to enter into a relaxed state and dialogue about their arising imagery while a particular music program is played. This leads to a deepening and expansion of the participant’s experience, in turn leading to exploration, increased awareness and understanding of life issues from a holistic perspective.
